Hey I'm Alexis I also go by Sword or Svvord online, most of my handles are theswordwizard because I committed to it before I came up with something actually else. cest la vie. I'm a website designer during the day but I design mildly boring sites so I like to get a little sillay elsewise. I say this while you're looking at probably one of the most soberly designed home/about pages you've seen on neocities in a minute. I talk a bit more about my process/concept/methodology/coping strategies in the site colophon but basically I'm trying to take it easy on the mainstage so I can freely go hard on the subpages without tearing my hair out about site structure and readability and FUCKING responsiveness. From the start at least.
I actually do a lot of stuff. Graphic design illustration web design publication design etcetera. I am also the art director for ValiDate if you're a terminally online queer POC you may have heard of it. Being an art director is fun I basically have to boss around people that are better illustrators than I am. I did make a really sick pitchdeck none of you suckers get to see until [redacted] though. Also some updates to the UI that will happen eventually. You can see some of the publications I've done recently on CULTURALFLEXCHANGE, which is a collaborative mini-practice I'm currently doing with Max Banshees (legend) in order to get into art book fairs. We'll see if it pans out. Their book work is also there def worth checking out.
My personal projects right now are mainly BUTCHVERSE and SCROLLFORM. Butchverse is basically my appropriating gender theory and academia to justify my obsession with Daredevil. The first installment is complete and has a print version you can purchase on my Etsy (or a digital version on my Itchio, but the print one comes with fun goodies) and it's 100 pages of art and theory around Daredevil and The Punisher. And them strapping. I do have a relatively sfw alternate pdf version but in general IT IS 18+ ONLY. The second installment I'm currently working on is called BUTCHVERSE 2: THE(Y/HE) DOUJINSHI and is even more for adults only I cannot understate it.
Scrollform is basically where I collect my thoughts on the internet and how we connect with it. I've been online for a bit ( though not nearly as long or as in depth as many others have, especially on neocities) so I've got a lot of thoughts on it. Scrollform proper is an interview series I did as part of my Graphic Design degree senior thesis. I did such a good job on the website please go look at it. Scrollform_01 is a high fidelity zine where I write a bunch of... essays? tumblr rants? about the web and shit. Also a banger, and I'm considering maybe making it a site but that would be a pain. I might just copy paste the text of completed sections onto another neocities site for it and just have it be a blog. We'll see. You'll know if it happens. The pdf can currently be acquired on my Itchio and I might put the print edition up on my Etsy sometime soon.
